Antonio Conte could be handed reunion at Tottenham with Jose Mourinho's £40m striker

As the end of another Premier League season approaches, so does the summer transfer window. The business that is done at Tottenham is dependent on a number of factors, which will become clearer after their final nine games of the campaign.

Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici will be hoping they are given sufficient funds by Daniel Levy, to help strengthen the current Spurs squad. The Lilywhites are still battling for a spot inside the top four, which is likely to massively help them in keeping certain players at the club and attract new players with Champions League football for next season.

Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that Jorge Mendes has been looking into strikers in Europe that could be potentials for Tottenham, as rumours around a Harry Kane transfer resurface. The likes of Memphis Depay and Marcus Rashford have been some of the names amongst the links, but The Athletic reported that Tammy Abraham was one of the players who talks have been held over.

When Kane's transfer saga was the big conversation of last summer's transfer window, former Tottenham player Danny Murphy suggested Abraham could be well suited to the north London club. "I think Harry Kane is going to go to Man City. Before we were talking about Abraham. What a signing he’d be for someone like Tottenham. If Kane is going to go; Tammy is a goalscorer," Murphy explained.

However it was Roma that ended up being the 24-year-old's next destination, meaning he is now playing under Jose Mourinho. Abraham is thriving with the Italian club, who currently sit sixth in Serie A, eight points off fourth placed Juventus.

Just last month, the former Tottenham manager praised his centre-forward but explained that there was still room for improvement. "He is doing well but he can do better. It's not easy to leave England but he is doing well," Mourinho admitted. "I hope in him but he has the potential to do even more."

Abraham also commented on what it has been like, since his move to Italy. "At first it takes a bit of getting used to but after a while you settle in, find a house and start to explore a bit and try different restaurants. I'm really enjoying Rome," he explained.

"Sometimes I get homesick, which is tough, but I'm here for a reason: to do a job. I knew there'd be a point where I'd have to leave Chelsea and go out and explore. Now I've come to a different country and learning a different culture and language, I'm really enjoying it."

Abraham has scored 15 goals and registered three assists in 29 Serie A appearances so far this season. The striker has also scored seven goals in eight Europa Conference League games, of which his side have reached the quarter finals of.

Six years ago the 24-year-old was playing at Chelsea so has had experience working with Conte and the player and manager have both previously praised one another. "Abraham is another young player who is the future for Chelsea, for sure," the 52-year-old admitted. "He has great potential in the technical and physical aspects. I think the academy is working very well.”

"I had the pleasure of being coached by Conte, I know his abilities. I’m sure he will make Tottenham grow a lot, but we too have a great coach from whom we are learning a lot, every day," Abraham said after the Italian's move to N17.

Conte is likely to be wanting another striker in the summer, with Kane his only current secure option up front. The 52-year-old has previously explained how valuable he believes experience is, with incoming players.

Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have both made an immediate impact on the Spurs side, despite coming from a foreign league. However Abraham has both experience in foreign leagues and the Premier League.

Therefore with the striker's previous experience, statistics highlighting his quality and having previously worked with the Italian, could a reunion be on the cards? The Blues have a buy-back clause in the 24-year-old's deal with Roma, which can be used after he has spent two seasons at his current club which means if Tottenham don't secure a deal with him this summer, it will get even more difficult at the end of next season.

Abraham has a current market value of £40.5million, so wouldn't be the cheapest of options for the north London club. However if Roma don't secure a Champions League spot for next season, Tottenham do and Levy makes the relevant funds available, then could Abraham consider a move back to the capital?
