Antonio Conte confirms Tottenham injury blow as Son Heung-min makes honest prediction

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Tuesday, March 1.

FA Cup injury update

Coming off the back of Tottenham Hotspur's convincing win over Leeds United on Saturday, Spurs head into their FA Cup tie with Championship side Middlesbrough full of confidence.

A number of players missed Saturday's 4-0 victory and manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that those same players will not be available

Tottenham will have a strong squad when they take on the side which knocked out Manchester United on penalties in the fourth round but not having the likes of Lucas Moura or Oliver Skipp means there is less room for rotation in what should be a routine cup fixture.

"Same squad as we have to face Leeds. No [Oliver] Skipp, [Japhet] Tanganga, [Lucas] Moura or [Rodrigo] Bentancur," Conte admitted.

Son shares Conte frustration

Son Heung-min was on the scoresheet on Saturday as Tottenham bounced back from their shock Burnley defeat.

The win over Leeds calmed down a volatile situation after Conte seemed to suggest he wanted to leave the club.

The Italian has since confirmed that he was emotional after the loss and Son has said that he wants Conte to stay at the club for as long as possible.

"We have a fantastic manager. He brings passion, he brings so much positive energy. We are all happy to work with him. I think it’s so, so important we keep this," he said.

Conte's high Scarlett praise

Dane Scarlett was named on the bench on Saturday against Leeds and came on for the final few minutes with the three points scored.

The 17-year-old is just one of a number of Spurs youngsters who look destined to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp.

Speaking after the final whistle, Conte reserved special praise for the youngster.

"He is for sure at this moment the best prospect from the academy," said Conte.
