Antonio Conte and Michail Antonio agree on a crucial factor ahead of Tottenham vs West Ham clash

West Ham will travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, just a few days after their dramatic Europa League quarter-final qualification. Antonio Conte will be preparing his Spurs side for a London derby, after their 2-0 victory over Brighton on Wednesday.

The two London sides sit level on points going into the tie, both still in the race for a top four spot. The clash could be crucial in their hopes of claiming a Champions League place for next season and ensuring the gap between them and teams above, doesn't increase.

Conte will still be without Japhet Tanganga, Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon for Sunday's tie. Moyes said in his pre-match press conference, which took place the morning after the European match, "We have a few limping but you expect that from a tough game and we'll assess them all this morning [Friday] and see how they are. It's a bit early to know a lot about the team."

West Ham went into their Europa League round of 16, second leg 1-0 down to Sevilla but managed to make a comeback and end the game with an aggregate score of 2-1. In his post-match interview, Michail Antonio spoke about the importance of the fans during the game and the atmosphere they created.

"We came out here and the fans were singing," Antonio explained. "I said to Cres [Aaron Cresswell] in the lineup, 'the atmosphere is an absolute joke today'.

"The fans were roaring and the fans were roaring all the way through the game. They were pushing us, they were backing us, they were the 12th man on the pitch today and they pushed us so I'll give the win to them. They're the ones that done it for us."

The Irons will be hoping their fans can add noise to the atmosphere on Sunday too, but it will be Tottenham who should feel the impact from supporters, with the match being held in N17. It is something Conte will be wishing for too, as he highlighted it in his pre-match press conference.

"It would be very important to have a fantastic atmosphere around us in the stadium," he said. "Our fans, they have to play an important part in the game. Like all the other games they can help us by pushing us from the start until the end, to create a fantastic atmosphere around us. It’ll be very important for us.

"It's a derby and don't forget that a derby is always difficult, but I think that my team, we are now in a good moment of form. We are improving a lot. We try to do everything to get three points."

The 52-year-old has previously highlighted the importance of the Tottenham fans and it will likely give his squad a boost during the London derby. Spurs need to win the game to get some much needed points on the table and end their almost perfect run of winning one game and losing the next.

Conte may hope he has an advantage over David Moyes' side, due to the extra days preparation, but the West Ham boss will hope his side can recover quickly from their 120 minute game on Thursday. When he spoke to the media ahead of the Europa League first leg tie, Moyes explained what his team needed to do, to help generate a good atmosphere.

"How do you get a good atmosphere? Well that is from your team performance and how the team go about the job and we need to make sure we do not allow Sevilla to kill that atmosphere so we have to do a really good job on the pitch," Moyes said.

This will be the same case at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday and if the Lilywhites can come out and show fight from the minute the whistle goes, they will have the fans behind them.

The nature of the game means it is always a big fixture but with what is at stake in the Premier League table, it adds to that. It is the final match for the two sides before the international break and a key chance to go into the disruption of fixtures with a win and three points.
