Antonio Colak 'wants' Rangers transfer from PAOK over four other interested European clubs

Antonio Colak wants to join Rangers this summer after being wowed by Ibrox last season during his time at Malmo, according to a report.

The PAOK striker hit a double for the Swedish side as they dumped then boss Steven Gerrard's Light Blues side out of the Champions League qualifiers. The Scottish Sun claim the memories of the atmosphere on that occasion remains fresh in the mind of the Croatia cap and he wants to experience it again in a permanent basis.

Rangers are claimed to have stepped up negotiations with the Greek outfit over the purchase of the attacker in a deal that could cost around £2.5million. Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to add more firepower to his Ibrox frontline as he bids to reclaim the Premiership title from Celtic and make a splash in Europe.

Greek sources claim the Scottish Cup winners have so far tabled £1.75m for Colak, who has jetted out to be part PAOK's pre-season training camp ahead of the new campaign.

His club want another £750,000 on top of what is currently on the table after making it clear they are ready to do a deal over the frontman who is out of contract in 2024.

The report states that there is interest also from up to four other European clubs - but Colak wants to make the move to Glasgow.

Alfredo Morelos' Rangers future is still up in the air with the hitman heading into the final 12 months of his deal with reported interest coming from La Liga giants Sevilla.

Cedric Itten has also been allowed to leave the club after returning to his homeland with BSC Young Boys.
