Antonio Colak Rangers transfer exit race heats up as Euro trio 'interested'

Antonio Colak could make a transfer exit from Rangers this summer with a European trio of clubs reportedly interested in the striker.

It's claimed the Croatian forward, 29, is being considered as a possible target just one year on from joining Rangers.

Serie B clubs Parma and Pisa are both credited with having lodged an interest in a transfer swoop for Colak this summer.

And Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are also keen on a £2million move for Colak, according to the Scottish Sun.

Colak had made a blistering start to life at Rangers last season but his form was halted by a calf strain in November.

The injury kept Colak out of five Scottish Premiership fixtures and led to a reduction in his game time when he was fully recovered with Alfredo Morelos preferred up-front.

Interest in Colak comes with speculation suggesting the striker could be allowed to leave Ibrox after the arrivals of Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers.

But speaking back in May, Beale had suggested Colak had a future at Ibrox.

He said: "If he has a good pre-season and comes out of it, then I will get the Antonio Colak we had in August and September.

“Does he have a future? Yeah. He will have to take on the challenge like everyone else. I want to drive competition in the squad and he won’t shy away from it and he backs himself.

“If someone doesn’t want competition then they aren’t at the right club moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Dujon Sterling has not travelled to Germany with the Rangers squad for pre-season.

The summer signing, 23, has suffered a calf injury in training so won't be in Germany with his team-mates.

However, it's understood the injury is not serious with the player likely to return to training when the squad returns to Scotland next week.
