Antonio Colak in bullish Rangers boast as he claims 'I could also win the Champions League at 34'

Rangers striker Antonio Colak is taking inspiration from another Croatian favourtie in Govan on his path to potential greatness.

The forward has been named in the preliminary World Cup squad for his nation ahead of the tournament which begins this month in Qatar. Rangers favourite Dado Prso made his national team debut at 29 for Croatia and it is what the current Ibrox star is leaning on at the same age.

With experienced pros like Luka Modric and Karim Benzema winning big awards in their twilight years, Colak knows he has time on his side as he looks to make a name for himself. He said: "You know how football is. There are always nice stories that football writes. Prso also made his first game for the national team at 29 – so there is never a peak. I could also win the Champions League at 34.

"I don’t set any limits. Luka Modric won the Ballon D’Or at 34, (Karim) Benzema also. You know there are big things you can achieve in such a short period.

"Look what I have achieved in a short period at Rangers. It is just about being positive, working hard and you can achieve a lot.

“I say to my fiancée sometimes I feel I am 22 even though I am 29. I’m feeling really good at the moment.”
