Antonio Colak earns triumphant Rangers praise as he earns 'standout' player tag amid goal rush

Rangers' Antonio Colak has been hailed as the standout player in Scotland amid his relentless run of form.

The Croatian striker currently ranks in the top 10 goalscorers worldwide in terms of goals after netting 13 times already this season since his move to Ibrox from PAOK. It's got Rangers hero Alex Rae excited and he's named Colak as his Premiership man to beat amid stars like Celtic players Jota and Kyogo Furuhashi lighting up the league and Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men holding star names too in James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos.

Rae reckons that ahead of this week's Champions League Group A clash between Rangers and Liverpool at Ibrox, the number nine has shown his credentials as a top player and one who will be key for Light Blues boss Giovani van Bronckhorst. He told BoyleSports: "Rangers' recent form has been decent. They're free-scoring and have picked up a couple of good results against decent opposition.

"They've also got Antonio Colak who is one of the standout players in Scotland right now. He's hit the ground running and has produced a remarkable turnaround.

"It'll be very interesting to see who leads the line on Wednesday night because Alfredo Morelos started the last couple of games against Napoli and Liverpool but I don't think he's fully fit and Colak's confidence will be sky-high.

"Confidence will be high but it'd be naive for Rangers to go gung-ho against Liverpool. They have to have structure and their best chance of a result is to transition through Ryan Kent and get deliveries into the box for Colak."
