Antonio Colak admits Rangers transfer 'goosebumps' after watching Dado Prso and Nikica Jelavic

Rangers new boy Antonio Colak admits watching the likes of Dado Prso, Nikica jelavic and Nacho Novo score goals for the club gave him ‘goosebumps’.

The Croatian follows in the footsteps of countrymen Prso and Jelavic after completing his £1.8million switch from PAOK. The striker penned a three-year deal with the Ibrox club and has joined up with his new teammates in their pre-season training camp in Portugal. Giovanni van Bronckhorst finally got his man after protracted negotiations with the Greek outfit, and he’s set to be joined by fellow frontman Tom Lawrence soon. The Gers are expected to announce the former Derby County man in the coming days.

Colak insists Glasgow was his first choice destination after learning of the Light Blues’ interest. And while he inflicted heartache on his new employers with a double for Malmo to dump them out of last season’s Champions League qualifiers, he explained that his childhood football “addiction” meant he knew all about the club from a young age after watching their goal getters lap up the love from the Ibrox faithful.

“It’s a huge and amazing feeling to be here finally,” he told Rangers TV. “Of course I have to thank everybody in the club who worked night and day. Also my agents and all the people around me, who support me to bring me to Rangers. Since I knew that Rangers wanted me, I was just focusing on Rangers and wanted to be here. Now I;m happy that finally the day is here and I’m a Rangers player.

“It’s not only because of the game I played there last year. It was an amazing atmosphere. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been a football addict and I was following all the leagues, so I was following Rangers since I don’t know when. Of course, Dado Prso, (Nikica) Jelavic, Nacho Novo I was watching all this time. The players scoring and being successful to bring the fans and the people on their side. Somehow, this feeling gives me goosebumps. I want to achieve similar things and this is one of the main reasons I joined Rangers."
