Antiques Roadshow fans weren't impressed as the show was pulled from the BBC 's schedule this evening following an FA Cup football match which ended with penalties.
The BBC antiques show had been due to air at 8pm on Sunday night (April 23) but the schedule changed at the last minute, with a BBC announcer confirming the news to viewers.
They revealed this evening: "Due to the excitement of the football we've a change to our schedule. No Antiques Roadshow and later than billed for Our Changing Planet".
The schedule change came following coverage of the FA Cup semi-final between Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United, which ended up going to penalties.
Fans took to social media to share their disappointment over Antiques Roadshow being pulled from the schedule, seemingly as a result of football coverage overrunning.
Sharing their thoughts on such, one person wrote in a tweet: "Antiques Roadshow cancelled tonight because the football overran ... fuming! My Sunday is ruined".
Another said: "The BBC has literally ruined my week by taking Antiques Roadshow off the schedule for tonight." Whilst a third person said: "I am very disappointed".
A fourth said: "Think it's so unfair [...] Really look forward to Antiques Roadshow". Another wrote: "Football overran so what did they drop - Antiques Roadshow. Sport rules. Unfair."
One fan tweeted: "No Antiques Roadshow? You've just ruined Sunday."
"Miffed at there not being Antiques Roadshow on tonight. What is the point of a Sunday night now?" said another fan on social media.
Others however suggested that the episode would have been a repeat anyway, though the thought of this still left some fans disappointed by the schedule change.
One person tweeted: "Sodding football, repeat or not I would have still preferred to watch Antiques Roadshow".
