Former Coronation Street actor Sean Ward said he was forced to sell his home and his car after work dried up because of his antivax views.

The Our Girl star has lobbied against Covid vaccines to his followers on Instagram, despite the jabs being both safe and effective.

Now the actor, who played Corrie baddie Callum Logan, admitted he has been sleeping on a mattress in a friend’s spare room for over a year in a post on Instagram.

Ward, 33, later clarified he was not “homeless”, saying: “I live with my mate in a lovely gaf albeit with no bed frame.”

The anti-lockdown activist said he put all of his possessions in storage but then lost them all as they were sold before he could afford the storage fees.

He said: “Firstly the work dried up. No one would hire me whether in front of or behind the camera, all my usual ways of making money just stopped, eventually I couldn’t afford the rent.

“So I gave up my 4 bed house and move onto my friend’s couch. I had to put all my belongings into storage. After a while I couldn’t afford to pay the storage bill and after about 4 weeks of missing the payments – equating to about £500 – Safe store UK sold all belongings.

“My sofa, my bed frame, my office equipment, desk, chair, wardrobes, mirrors, all my coats and clothes and my projector.”

He said his money difficulties meant his Honda Civic was seized by the DVLA.

“Luckily I got my mattress out in time and I’ve been sleeping on that in a friend’s spare room for over a year now. He has given me a safe space when I really needed it,” he added.

“I haven’t paid any rent to this man and it makes me extremely tearful when I think how amazing that really is. Was it all worth it? Yes! If I’ve saved one life then yes.”

Also, the actor claimed the stress of being shunned for his anti-vaxxer views made his teeth start to fall out and he lost so much weight.

Ward added: “Then the stress mounted so much my teeth began to fall out. I lost so much weight, I was mentally drained and felt so lost on my own.”

Ward was reported to have been on a salary of around £100,000 a year when he appeared on Coronation Street.

He later starred alongside Michelle Keegan in the BBC series Our Girl.
