Anthony Martial set for Europa League meeting with one of his favourite Man Utd opponents

Anthony Martial could be back to haunt West Ham when they arrive at Sevilla for Thursday night’s last-16 Europa League tie.

The Frenchman, on loan from Manchester United, already has an impressive record against the Hammers with six goals and five assists in English football.

Although he has been out injured for the last three games, the 26-year-old is set to be unleashed on the east Londoners again after moving to Spain on loan from Old Trafford in January.

Martial trained with his team-mates on Wednesday morning and has been named in the title challengers' 22-man squad. Coach Julen Lopetegui said: “We will see tomorrow if he can help us.”

Despite West Ham ’s run of just two wins from their last nine in all competitions, with defeats in their last two games, Sevilla’s stars are not underestimating David Moyes’ side.

The six-time Europa League/UEFA Cup winners have just three wins from their last 10 games in all competitions themselves.

Serbian midfielder Nemanja Gudelj said: “The team is preparing very well for the game. We feel prepared and ready.

“They are a very physical side with a clear game-plan and we are going to have to be prepared to face the game.

“It is a very strong team in one of the best leagues in the world. Everybody knows the economic strength of these sides and they are having a very good season.

“We are going to have to be very prepared, ready and alert to give everything to be able to beat West Ham.

“It is a difficult time but this club and this team have shown many times that in difficult times it is stronger. When one falls another steps up.”
