Anthony Martial's marriage with Manchester United seems like it's only going to end one way.
The Frenchman was primed to be the future of the club when he burst onto the scene as a youngster in 2015, but it's not quite worked out that way.
He has never been quite able to reproduce the magic from his debut season on a consistent basis.
But there have been flashes which is why United have persevered for so long and what makes the situation so infuriating from a Red Devils perspective.
But it seems that patience is wearing thin as it all came to a head at the weekend with Martial clashing with Rangnick.

Martial's feud with Rangnick
Eyebrows were raised when Martial was left out of the matchday squad during the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, especially considering United were left short on the bench with eight substitutes.
Rangnick was asked about his absence after the game claiming the Frenchman refused to make himself available for the match.
He said in his post-match press conference: "Yes, he didn't want to be in the squad. He would have been in the squad normally but he didn't want to and that was the reason why he didn't travel with us yesterday."
But Martial hit back at the German later on Saturday night, insisting that those claims were far from the truth.
He said on Instagram : "I will never refuse to play a match for Man United.
"I've been here for 7 years and I never disrespected and never will disrespect the club and the fans."
Martial reported for Manchester United training on Sunday afternoon despite the war of words that were exchanged the previous night.
He turned up at Carrington and was spotted leaving around 2.30pm, stopping his car to take photos with fans waiting outside the complex's gates.
Boardroom intervention
Martial expressed his desire to leave United in January with the Red Devils willing to grant his wish, but a move has not materialised yet.
Any loan deal would have to cover all of his wages and include a loan fee as Sevilla has a short-term offer rejected after failing to meet those terms.
Martial's agent, Philippe Lamboley, recently confirmed that his client wanted to leave Old Trafford in the current window.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Anthony wishes to leave the club in January.
“He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”
Rangnick was quizzed on the situation following United's narrow win at Norwich City last month.
"I don’t communicate with agents via the media or the press," the Red Devils boss firmly stated. "The player hasn’t spoken with me or with us about it... To be honest, what his agent has said in the media is not that much of interest."
Then asked whether he would speak to the forward about Lamboley's admission, Rangnick added: "No, because then I’d react to what the agent has said.
"It should be the player. If a player wishes to go to another club, it should be the player who informs either the board or myself, whoever.
"I have never spoken to a player via media or agents."
United are struggling to offload Martial due to his £200,000-a-week wages which resulted in an intervention from United chiefs in light of this weekend's events.
Rangnick has been advised to bring Martial back into the fold and encouraged to mend his relationship with the forward.
Private Rangnick meeting
Rangnick will face the media on Tuesday, when he is expected to explain the contradiction between him and Martial as a misunderstanding, in an effort to defuse the situation.
The pair have since met to discuss the incident, but it still doesn't bode well for Martial's future at the club.
United will continue to look for suitors for the 26-year-old but since he's under contract until 2024, the same issues are likely to persist.
The decision to reintegrate Martial is out of Rangnick's hands, but in fairness to the interim boss, his performances this season have not warranted a regular place in the side.
