Anthony Joshua hits back at Tyson Fury's claims of £2m offer to fight Derek Chisora

Anthony Joshua has told Tyson Fury to put up or shut up over his claims he has offered Derek Chisora £2million for a trilogy fight.

Fury claims Chisora, who is managed by Joshua’s 258 MGT outfit, rejected his £2million bid for a showdown at Old Trafford. Chisora dismissed Fury’s claims, saying “the guy is bi-polar” and that he doesn’t know in his own mind if he wants to fight on or retire.

Now Joshua has waded into the debate and he has told the unbeaten Gypsy King to formally make his offer or shut up. “All the negotiations are all being aired online,” he said ahead of his world heavyweight title rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in Jeddah.

“Two million pounds is a lot of money, but it’s all right saying it, we need to see it.” Fury has already lost his Ring magazine belt as the division’s No 1 heavyweight and now WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has given him a deadline of August 26 to confirm if he is really quitting.

The Saudis would love to stage Fury against the winner of Joshua-Usyk 2 for the undisputed title and few people believe the Traveller will actually hang up his gloves. Joshua has his doubts and says Fury will have to make his intentions clear by next Friday.

“He has a week after Saturday and then you will find out,” he said. “He’s said he’s retired, but you will know officially on the 26th or 27th.” Chisora, who is in Jeddah supporting Joshua, also doubts that he will retire and is adamant he will fight again. He even claims Fury has already agreed to fight the winner of Joshua-Usyk 2 for the undisputed title, although promoter Eddie Hearn disputes this.

“The guy is bi-polar bro, that’s all I can say,” said Chisora, who lost to Fury in 2011 and in 2014. “He doesn’t know what he wants to do. “We will see him fight again, but I don’t know if it will be against me. “The Saudis have a two-fight deal with AJ, Usyk and Fury. This and then the winner fights Fury for undisputed.”
