Anthony Joshua-backed CBD brand Love Hemp expands Deliveroo deal

A CBD brand backed by boxing star Anthony Joshua has expanded its deal with Deliveroo to Manchester.

Love Hemp launched on a trial basis with the delivery giant in December, servicing customers within a 6km radius of the brand’s production facility in Croydon, South London.

The company has now broadened that deal to Manchester, where it opened a satellite office in Department Bonded Warehouse in September last year, creating 30 jobs in the process.

Co-founder and CEO Tony Calamita said: "Having completed the successful launch and pilot virtual store on Deliveroo we are delighted to now expand that offering to a wider area.

"This allows our customers to be able to purchase our products in a 'just in time' manner but, most importantly, it continues to expand our brand awareness and visibility across another channel of distribution."

In December, Love Hemp revealed its revenue totalled £4.33m for the 12 months to the end of June 2021, up from £1.6m.

It also posted a gross profit of £1.25m for the period, a rise from £960,000.

During the year the company welcomed Anthony Joshua as a shareholder, signed an exclusive licensing agreement with UFC and partnered with UFC champion Kamaru Usman.
