Anthony Gordon move, Bryan Gil exit - Tottenham transfer to-do list amid Antonio Conte demand

Antonio Conte has made it clear that Tottenham have to sign new players if any of his squad are to depart before transfer deadline day. It's always going to be a very busy summer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Italian and Fabio Paratici have the chance to stamp their mark on the team, seven new players have signed on the dotted line, and a number have left either on loan or permanently.

Spurs clearly aren't done in the transfer market just yet with further outgoings on the agenda, which in turn could lead to one or two more incomings. Having made Tottenham's transfer stance clear on Thursday in his pre-match press conference, Conte reiterated it once again when asked about Valencia's interest in Bryan Gil following Spurs' 1-0 win over Wolves.

"I was very clear in the press conference before this game. This squad is this, and if someone goes away, then another has to come. This has to be very clear for everybody," he explained. "Otherwise, we stay with this squad and we continue our path with these players, this squad.

"But if someone has to go away, along, another must come. This is very clear for me, for the club, but we are totally agreed on this aspect."

So what exactly is on Paratici's transfer to-do list ahead of deadline day? football.london takes a look.

Outgoings

Bryan Gil

Gennaro Gattuso and Valencia are clearly intent on luring Gil back to the Mestalla after such a successful loan spell at the club in the second part of the last campaign. The Spain U21 international has been on the bench in Tottenham's first three games of the campaign, but actual pitch time is going to be few and far between for him if he remains in N17.

A move to Valencia would give him the required minutes and boost their frontline in the process, with Gattuso stating in a press conference last week that his club is "working on it". Tottenham cannot leave themselves too short, however, and they will have to have a replacement lined up if the winger is to move on.

Harry Winks

Heavily tipped to secure a move to Everton back in June, talk of a move away for Winks has gone rather quiet since then. It is something that must happen for both parties before the transfer deadline on Thursday, September 1, though.

Playing a bit-part role at Tottenham in the past two seasons, the midfielder simply cannot remain in north London beyond the deadline as he needs to get his career back on track. His future could very well drag on right up until deadline day.

Sergio Reguilon

One of the four players left out of Tottenham's pre-season plans, Reguilon still remains at the club ahead of deadline day. That in itself is perhaps a shock, especially given the rave reviews he was getting in his first season at Tottenham and prior to that in his time on loan with Sevilla.

Linked with switches to either Italy or Spain, The Athletic have reported that Nottingham Forest are now keen on taking him on loan. A quick resolution needs to be found for both the player and the club.

Japhet Tanganga

Tanganga's future will become a lot clearer over the next week or so, following plenty of speculation regarding a switch to Italy. AC Milan and Roma have both been linked with his services ahead of deadline day.

With first-team opportunities going to be extremely limited for him at Tottenham this season, the academy graduate would really benefit from a loan spell, as was the case with Oliver Skipp when he headed to Norwich City. As Conte has mentioned a couple of times over the past week, he would need replacing if he heads for pastures new.

Incomings

Gordon decision

football.london understands that, among other targets, Spurs are continuing to monitor the situation with Everton's Anthony Gordon. However, Chelsea appear to be leading the race for the 21-year-old following their recent reported rejected £45m bid.

Spurs were keen on a double deal with Richarlison earlier in the summer, with Gordon understood to be interested in playing for Conte and in the Champions League but unwilling to push for a move from the boyhood club he loves. If indeed Gil departs, Spurs need to decide whether or not they launch a move for the England U21 international.

A regular starter for Everton, the winger would find pitch time hard to come by at Tottenham due to the club's excellent attacking options and that in turn would leave him with a huge call to make.

New centre-back

Tottenham will also have to make a move for a new centre-back if Tanganga bids farewell to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the transfer window slams shut. Already boasting a number of options across the back three, the recent injuries to Cristian Romero and Clement Lenglet have highlighted that they cannot leave themselves too short in the position.
