Anthony Gordon has been handed Everton's No.10 shirt following a brilliant breakout season for the club last term.
The winger has been subject to a number of transfer rumours in recent weeks, with both Spurs and Newcastle United credited with interest in the 21-year-old. However, it seems that the Blues have moved quickly to give their academy graduate a reward for his performances in 2021/22.
Gordon was voted the Players' Player Of The Season and the Young Player Of The Season awards following the conclusion of the campaign thanks to a string of fantastic performances. He bagged four goals and claimed two assists in the Premier League, with his determination and work-rate being a key factor behind the club securing their survival in the division in the penultimate game against Crystal Palace.

Recent weeks have brought rumours of a potential move away from Goodison Park this summer, with reports last week suggesting that Newcastle could offer up to £35m for the winger. However, he has travelled with the rest of the Everton squad to the USA on Monday as the Blues begin their pre-season preparations with matches against Arsenal and Minnesota United in North America in the coming weeks.
And, while the players were in the air, the club released a short video on their social media accounts announcing a change in shirt number. Gordon previously wore the 24 shirt, but has been handed a huge upgrade to the No.10 - showing the faith that the club and manager have in him.
Subsequent reports last week suggested that Everton could be in line to offer Gordon a new contract in the midst of current transfer rumours. The stance of the club throughout the reports of a potential move has been steadfast in that they do not want to sell one o their hottest academy talents in a generation.
