Anthony Elanga responds to Manchester United fans' new chant following West Ham win

Youngster Anthony Elanga has admitted that he had dreamt of hearing his name sang by Manchester United's supporters following Saturday's 1-0 win over West Ham United at Old Trafford.

After netting his first Premier League goal of the season in the 3-1 triumph over Brentford on Wednesday evening at the Brentford Community Stadium, Elanga earned his third successive Premier League start, following on from the back-to-back away clashes with Aston Villa and the Bees.

Starting on the left-wing, the young Swede, who was starting a Premier League game at Old Trafford with supporters present for the very first time, looked bright and confident, even though he did not have the same impact on proceedings as he had at Villa Park and in west London.

As the contest wore on, United's supporters started to sing about the youngster to the tune of Rhythm is a Dancer by Snap!

The song went as follows:

Rhythm is a dancer

Anthony Elanga

Try and stop him if you dare…

Anthony Elanga

Try and stop him if you dare…

Scoring goals from everywhere!

Woahooooah it’s Elangaaaaa

With Elanga having done enough to already secure his own personal chant, meaning that he is already threatening to become a fans' favourite at Old Trafford, the youngster has reacted to his name being sung by those on the terraces he once stood on himself as a youngster.

"What an amazing feeling to hear my name sang by the Stretford end," Elanga wrote on Instagram. "I've stood singing at Old Trafford myself and dreamt of moments like this.

"I'll give everything for you and this team! We keep fighting until the very end.

"Glory to God, always!"

Elanga's afternoon came to an end on 62 minutes when he was replaced by eventual match-winner Marcus Rashford, who tapped home from close quarters to seal all three points and lift United back into the top-four.

On what the win meant to him, Rashford said: "Winning a game like that, it's the best feeling in football really.

"Regardless of who is on the pitch, you have to keep going until the last minute. It is the best way to win a game for me and it's the greatest feeling."
