Anthony Elanga responds to Cristiano Ronaldo with cryptic Instagram message after Man United win

Anthony Elanga responded to Cristiano Ronaldo with a cryptic message after the Portuguese superstar once again guided Manchester United to victory.

Ronaldo’s hat-trick at Old Trafford on Saturday ensured United made a return to winning ways, having been given a scare by Norwich. The Portuguese ace had put United 2-0, only to see the Premier League’s bottom side draw themselves level to 2-2 in the second half.

But Ronaldo responded again, powering home a brilliant free-kick in front of the Stretford End to complete his hat-trick, and earn United their first win in three games. The result gives United new hope in the race for the top four, having seen both Tottenham and Arsenal lose on the same day.

It is, of course, not the first time the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been the catalyst for a United win. In fact, the 37-year-old’s hat-trick was his second in his past three league games — having also hit three goals in United's victory over Spurs last month.

Elanga played a big hand in Ronaldo getting off the mark against Norwich, winning the ball back deep into the visitors’ half before squaring it to the Portuguese for a simple finish. The pair then pulled out Ronaldo’s trademark celebration together.

Ronaldo posted a picture of the two to his Instagram story on Saturday as he celebrated the victory. In response, Elanga shared the post to his own story, along with the caption “told you”.

United will hope Ronaldo can replicate his heroics again in what is set to be a huge week for them in the race for fourth. The Reds begin with a trip to title-chasing Liverpool on Tuesday, before heading to the Emirates to take on top four rivals Arsenal next weekend.
