Anthony Elanga gets big FIFA 22 upgrade after electric Manchester United performances

EA Sports have handed Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga a huge upgrade on FIFA 22 following his impressive recent form.

Elanga started ahead of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard in United 's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend, highlighting the faith interim boss Ralf Rangnick has in the 19-year-old. Former United captain Roy Keane was critical of Elanga's performance against City, but the winger has put in a number of good performances prior to the Manchester derby.

The Swedish winger scored a vital goal in the Reds' 1-1 draw away against Atletico Madrid in their Champions League Round of 16 1st leg, as well as scoring against Brentford and Leeds in the Premier League. Elanga has been utilised across the front three under Rangnick, operating on the right wing in his last five appearances for the Reds.

Whilst other issues continue to cloud United's season, the 19-year-old's performances haven't gone unnoticed by Reds supporters, highlighted by echoes of the Swede's new song being chanted from the away end in the Wanda Metropolitano following his 80th-minute equaliser. EA Sports have also acknowledged the youngster's impressive performances and handed Elanga a deserved upgrade on FIFA 22.

So, what impact has Elanga's upgrade had on his in-game attributes? These are how his attributes have been changed on FIFA 22, as of the latest squad update that was released on all platforms as of March 7, 2022.

Anthony Elanga handed huge upgrade in FIFA 22 squad update

United's Swedish winger has received a huge boost across the board in the latest FIFA 22 squad update, with the 19-year-old seeing upgrades to his passing, shooting and dribbling attributes. Elanga has been received boosts to his Crossing (61-63), Finishing (66-68), Short Passing (63-65), Dribbling (72-74), Ball Control (68-70), Agility (81-83), Reactions (65-67) and Balance (72-74).

The United attacker has also received significant upgrades to his physical and mental attributes with his Jumping (65-68), Stamina (64-67), Strength (51-54), Positioning (67-70) and Vision (59-61) all increasing. The boosts to Elanga's attributes have also led to an increase in both his Overall Rating (68-70) and Potential Rating (84-85).

Following the boosts, the 19-year-old now has the same Potential Rating as Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dean Henderson, but is still nine ratings below Lingard. Elanga is just one attribute lower than Rashford in Agility and Balance, whilst having the same Acceleration attribute (86 out of 100).

To put his new rating into context, Elanga is now rated higher than Amad (68), James Garner (69), Hannibal (64), Shola Shoretire (62) and others. His potential rating, which was upgraded by one, now means the youngster can become as good as the likes of Jadon Sancho, Kingsley Coman, Marco Reus, Antoine Griezmann, Roberto Firmino and Christopher Nkunku on FIFA 22.

Other United players affected by the latest FIFA 22 squad update include Cristiano Ronaldo, Rashford, David De Gea, Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic and Wan-Bissaka.
