Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is hoping to lead Minnesota on a deep playoff run in 2023–24, but that’s not the only goal he has for himself this season.
During an interview with HEIR, Edwards was asked what he’s most looking forward to during the upcoming campaign. In addition to an improved showing in the postseason, Edwards indicated he’s itching for a playoff showdown against Draymond Green and the Warriors.
“Definitely going back to the playoffs, and going further in the playoffs. … I want to play the Warriors [in the playoffs]. I want to get to the Warriors. Wherever they’re at, I want to get to them,” said Edwards.

Reporter: “Why the Warriors so much?”
Edwards: “Because Draymond [Green] talks so much trash.” 🗣️👀

“I mean, because Draymond [Green] talks so much trash. That’s pretty much the only reason,” said Edwards when asked why he wants to meet Golden State in the playoffs.
Edwards and the Timberwolves were bounced from the playoffs in the first round last season by the eventual NBA champions, the Nuggets. While Edwards would surely like to exact revenge upon Denver, it seems he’s focused on getting the upper-hand on the loose-lipped Green, evidently not a fan of his trash-talking tendencies.
The Timberwolves and Warriors have never faced off in the playoffs, though Edwards seems hopeful that will change this year.
