Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar big man, took yet another step in his recovery from a stress injury in his right foot.
He has been progressing well over the past week or so according to multiple reports. He started doing individual workouts that lasted up to an hour, then he took part in practice later in the week.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported on Friday that Davis could return to the Lakers’ lineup as soon as late next week.
Through it all, head coach Darvin Ham has said that Davis has remained virtually pain-free.
On Saturday, according to Ham, the big man took part in a full-contact scrimmage and looked great.
Darvin Ham said Anthony Davis “looked phenomenal” going through a full contact scrimmage on Saturday with the ‘stay ready’ group that includes some coaching staffers and low-minute players. The ramp up towards a return to game action continues to trend in a positive direction.

With some tough games coming up, including a five-game road trip that starts on Saturday, the Lakers cannot wait for Davis to return.
