Ant McPartlin was left comforting tearful runner-up Jamie Leahy as he narrowly lost out to Axel Blake on Britain's Got Talent.
It came down to a battle between two incredible comedians tonight, but 14-year-old ventriloquist just missed out on claiming the top spot.
The young star remained incredibly professional as he thanked those in the audience, but still appeared upset as his voice began to shake.
"Jamie - to come second in this year's final says a lot pal," Ant said. "You were brilliant, you must be thrilled."
"I am, yeah, it is amazing," he replied with a bright smile. "Thanks."
Asked what he would like to say to everyone at home, Jamie replied: "I'd like to say thanks for all of the support and..."
Stopping to compose himself, he continued: "There's one guy out there in here and his name is Lewis and he has helped me so much."
Jamie appeared tearful as he gave a thumbs up, prompting Ant to hold out his arms and said: "Come here."
Giving him a tight hug, Ant went on to say: "Ladies and gentleman, give it up one more time for our very deserving runner-up Jamie Lehay and Chuck!"
Just before he left, Dec appeared to say something as he patted him on the shoulder.
Meanwhile, winner Axel said that "words couldn't explain" how he was feeling and that he was "shaking".
"Thank you everyone for voting for me," he said. "It means the world to me. Thank you everyone at home. There's not even words to explain right now. I can't believe it, I can't believe it."
Ant quipped: "I'm thrilled that you won but what's going to get on my goat is the fact that you were Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer act!"
