Ant McPartlin took a tumble as Britain's Got Talent made a spectacular live return for the first of the ITV talent show's semi-finals. The presenter slipped up as he ran to join dance troupe Diversity and fellow presenter Declan Donnelly on stage.
After declaring "Oh my back!", he joked: "If you didn't see that on telly, it was quite a heavy fall". Judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli looked on in shock - with Amanda holding her hands to her face.
After friend Dec checked if he was ok amid rapturous applause and cheers from the studio audience, Ant joked that the moment had left him "wetting myself and farting at the same time".
Dec was in stitches at his side, joking: "I can confirm that he did fart" before returning to the script.
Fans on Twitter loved the unexpected moment with one, HelsPadam, joking: "Oh my gosh Ant just ‘Dec’ed it". Meanwhile Simon Cowell said it was his "favourite opening act ever".
The BGT live shows will see 40 acts competing for a place in the grand final - and the £250,000 top prize. They will also win a place on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance.
