Ant and Dec have announced their beloved show Saturday Night Takeaway is set to take a break in 2024.
The pair revealed on Twitter that while the two love hosting the hit series, they wanted to pursue other projects after hitting their 20th series milestone. The show had previously gone off air in 2009 before making a welcome return to ITV four years later.
The two said of their decision: "We love making Saturday Night Takeaway, but reaching the milestone of 20 series seemed like the perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath."

They did not specify when the pair would return to the show. The duo are currently busy having founded their own production company, Mitre Television Limited.
Fans expressed their disappointment at the news on social media. Many wished them well on their hiatus.
One person wrote: "Gutted. Was my favourite thing about a Saturday."
Another person commented: "We'll be waiting eagerly for you to return, as and when you're ready. Love you both."
