Ant and Dec stage fake baby scan for Saturday Night Takeaway as as prank exposed to child's father

Ant and Dec pulled off one of their biggest ever pranks on Saturday Night Takeaway by staging a fake baby scan to get one over on a viewer and father to be, before surprising him and his partner with an amazing gesture for their baby boy.

During last year's series, the Geordie presenters famously hosted a live wedding on their ITV show but even that paled in comparison to the stunt that played out in the opening moments of Takeaway's return this weekend. After warning viewers at home and fans in the studio audience that they'd been 'watching them' the hosts cut to couple Amy and Liam who were dining out at a restaurant right next to where the show is filmed.

Liam had no idea that his 'date' with was being broadcast to millions of viewers at home and, after Ant and Dec made contact with Amy through an ear piece, they finally revealed to Liam that they had been watching him, with the couple then driven the short distance to the ITV studio by I'm A Celebrity star Jordan North.

The surprises didn't end there for self confessed serial prankster Liam though, as he had to watch footage of the fake 4D scan that he and Amy attended. Liam was encouraged to play peek-a-boo with his unborn child and looked startled to see the little one apparently putting his hands over his face to play along. And then things took an even more far fetched turn, when Queen anthem Bohemian Rhapsody was played to Amy's bump and the baby on screen reacted by putting his 'rock fingers' up to join in.

Ant and Dec weren't down there though and had Liam go to antenatal class4es, where he was told to 'breathe through his eyebrows'. And their prank didn't finish after Amy and Liam's son Finlay was born as they also engineered a photo shoot, where Liam was told to make a series on unflattering facial expressions, which were kept on file and then broadcast on electronic billboards in London's Leicester Square as Saturday Night Takeaway went out on live on air.

Ant and Dec helping Amy to get revenge on her other half ended with a surprise for both her and Liam, when the Geordie stars revealed they'd opened a savings account for Finlay and would be putting £1,000 in it for the first 18 years of his life, a gesture that both Amy and Liam seemed really overwhelmed by.
