Ant and Dec send sweet message to Newcastle cancer support centre to celebrate landmark

TV stars Ant and Dec took time out from their busy schedule to wish a very happy 10th birthday to a vital Newcastle-based cancer charity.

The dynamic duo, wearing overalls and suggesting they had been busy decorating, sent their best wishes to the Maggie's Centre in Newcastle. The centre cares for people affected by cancer and their loved ones in Newcastle and around the region.

The centre, based in the grounds of the Freeman Hospital, is run by nurses and supports people living with cancer on a "walk-in" basis. The purpose built centre first opened a decade ago.

To mark the milestone, Ant and Dec - who have recently been busy on our TV screens presenting shows like Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here - have been long supporters of Maggie's. In their message of support, Ant said: "Hi Ant and Dec here, just getting a bit of work done in the corridor.

"Just getting a bit of painting and decorating done." Dec added. "But we've stopped to wish all of you at Maggie's Newcastle a very Happy 10th Birthday!"

Ant then jumped back in to shout "Happy birthday!" before Dec finished: "Keep up the wonderful work, lots of love!"

In sharing the heartwarming video, the team at Maggie's said: "We just love this video message from Ant and Dec wishing Maggie's Newcastle a Happy 10th Birthday today! Maggie’s is here for everyone affected by cancer, including family and friends. Almost everything is funded by the local community."
