Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly's savage dig at Boris Johnson on I'm A Celebrity has earned them a TV BAFTA nomination.
The duo made a string of hilarious digs at the expense of the Prime Minister during last year's series of the popular ITV show - which had been held in Wales rather than Australia for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic - and the presenting pair's funny quips have seen them being listed for a nod in Virgin Media's Must-See Moment Award ahead of this year's TV BAFTAs.
Six huge TV moments from the last year have been listed in the category, which is voted for by the public.
Ant and Dec's digs at Boris - where they slated the PM for his lockdown parties - were hailed by fans of the show, who loved the references to secret parties, cheese and wine.
As the camp leader changed during one episode, the duo made a savage dig at the PM. "And that means David's reign is over. But they weren't celebrating. They categorically deny any suggestions that they had a party. And this fictional party definitely didn't involve cheese and wine, or a Secret Santa," Ant said, as laughs erupted in the studio.
Elsewhere, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice's stunning 'silent' dance earned them a nomination in this year's category. During their performance to Symphony by Clean Bandit, the music stopped halfway through as the pair danced to silence in a bid to raise awareness of the deaf community and their experiences.
Following the special routine, Giovanni described it as "a moment that will remain forever in his heart️".
Pop star Adele is used to getting a multitude of awards, but her ITV show, An Audience with Adele, also earned itself a nod this year when she reunited with her school teacher on the show for the first time in over a decade.
The sweet moment came after Emma Thompson asked Adele if anyone had inspired her at school, to which she replied: "Yeah I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English. That was Miss McDonald. She left when I was in year eight. It was just one year, but she got me really into literature. I've always been obsessed with English and obviously now I write lyrics."
Colin’s devastating AIDS diagnosis in It's A Sin also received a nomination. The television series - created by Russell T Davies - was noted in the category for the particular scene where Colin (played by Callum Scott Howells) was giving his diagnosis whilst in hospital, with Jill and Ash by his side. The family then decided to make a move to London for him to get treatment.
It's A Sin was widely praised by critics and it also led to a surge in HIV testing, too.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK received a nomination too, specifically for Bimini Bon Boulash, who returned to the show after the lockdown forced a break in the programme.
As part of The RuRuVision Song Contest, Bimini has been nominated for their verse in the UK Hun? track by The United Kingdolls.
The final nomination has been given to Squid Game's Red Light, Green Light game, which went viral after the Netflix show became an overnight sensation. It is a traditional Korean children's game, but in this very special edition for the popular programme, it is no longer a harmless game to play among friends, but instead - if you lose, it ends up in death!
