Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway announcement sparks major prediction from 'gutted' fans

Ant and Dec have sparked a major prediction from fans over Saturday Night Takeaway, after the shock news that the show will come to an end next year, with many declaring that they know the next series will be the best yet.

As well as winning numerous accolades, like BAFTAs and National Television Awards, over the years, Takeaway has been a ratings winner for ITV for two decades now, giving viewers unforgettable moments like the launch of two different Little Ant and Decs, their performance of Let's Get Ready to Rhumble, which sent the 90s hit to the top of the charts in 2013, to life changing prizes and opportunities for viewers to the birth of Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee in the first End of the Show Show in 2022.

The most recent series also had plenty of highlights, including hilarious Undercover pranks on Alison Hammond and Rylan, Ant and Dec staging a fake baby scan as part of an elaborate surprise on a new dad and an epic series finale from Universal Studios in Florida.

But, as they get ready for this year's Britain's Got Talent auditions wrap up and host the live rounds, Ant and Dec had some bombshell news for fans on Thursday, when they posted a video on Twitter captioned 'A little update on the next series of #SaturdayNightTakeaway…' and in Dec said: "We've also decided that our 20th series next year will be our last one for a little while. The show takes up such a lot of our year, we just feel we need a little bit of a breather and that the show is going to take a little bit of a rest."

Ant replied: "But before that though, we've got the 20th series to plan haven't we?" to which Dec added: ""Yes, and we're looking forward to it!"

The video got a massive reaction from fans straight away and many of them were left saying the same thing - that Takeaway's 20th series will be the best yet.

One responded: "Sad about this, but I know series 20 will be your best series EVER," with another responding: "That will be one hell of an end of the series end of the show show!"
