Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway lands Drag Race exclusive with Ru Paul as guest announcer

Ant and Dec have taken to Twitter in delight at the line-up for the first episode of Saturday Night Takeaway's new series.

After a year away, the award winning ITV show is back this weekend and fans were left suitably excited after teasers last week that big names like Michael Buble and Jeremy Clarkson will be involved this time round.

And all the stops are being pulled out for the launch episode, with RuPaul following in the footsteps of his Drag Race pal Michelle Visage by being the Guest Announcer.

And Ru isn't the only Drag Race star taking part in Saturday's episode as the show has secured an exclusive performance from its three champions - The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney as Krystal Versace - who will take the stage together for the first time ever.

Sharing a teaser video from Saturday Night Takeaway's Twitter, Ant and Dec wrote: "Can't wait!"

Top Gear star turned Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host Jeremy Clarkson will be the first Undercover victim of the new series, following in the footsteps of Ant and Dec's former SMTV co-host Cat Deeley, who was duped by the lads last year.

All three Drag Race UK queens took to Twitter to confirm their involvement, with The Vivienne, who won Drag Race UK in 2019, writing: "We’re joining @antanddec and Mama Ru @RuPaul this weekend for Saturday Night Takeaway! @ITV

"The 3 winners of Drag Race UK are performing together exclusively for the first time in a spectacular ‘End of the Show Show’.

"Don’t miss it! - Saturday night."

Lawrence is currently touring the UK with the Drag Race UK season 2 tour and will have to miss three of the shows due to doing Takeaway.

Lawrence took to Twitter to post: "Excited to be performing on Saturday Night Takeaway this week, but it sadly means I will be missing 3 dates of the Season 2 tour in Blackpool, Birmingham and Cardiff due to rehearsals and live show.

I’m so sorry to anyone that has tickets for these three shows. I’m so sorry."

Vivienne replied: "I’m sure your amazing fans will understand that when Mama Ru and Ant & Dec call, you answer! What an amazing opportunity, this will be something the fans can treasure forever."
