Ant and Dec couldn't hide their excitement as they welcomed back a huge Saturday Night Takeaway favourite for the first time in five years, midway through the launch show of the new series.
Over the years, the Geordie hosts have been front and centre as their much loved show has taken well deserving viewers on all expenses paid trips abroad for overseas series finales at the likes of Disney World's Magic Kingdom and fellow Florida theme park Universal's Islands of Adventure.
Islands of Adventure was the location for the last one in 2018, as Dec took on hosting duties alone, flanked by Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern. There were plans for Place on a Plane to go ahead in 2020, with many spots already given away, before Covid threw a major spanner in the works and the show was eventually taken off air due to lockdown and overseas travel restrictions meaning winners couldn't fly to Florida.

The 'happiest minute of the week' has been a staple of Takeaway for years and Ant and Dec used the first one of the new series to announce the return of Place on the Plane and give away the first few tickets, as they were joined in the studio by cabin crew and well known characters like Shrek and Puss in Boots.
They both punched the air with delight as they confirmed that this year's series finale would see them return to Islands of Adventure in Florida, as the news was met with similar glee by the studio audience. Some of them then got told they would be going on the plane, along with one lucky employee, who was surprised live on air by Fleur East whilst in the middle of her Saturday night shift at work.
