Ant and Dec hit Golden Buzzer for Keiichi Iwasaki after playing key role in his audition

Ant and Dec left Britain's Got Talent viewers in shock on Saturday night, when they finally hit their Golden Buzzer for Keiichi Iwasaki, after playing a key role in his act.

The ITV show's hosts have a winning streak to maintain when it comes to their Golden Buzzer picks, with their 2020 choice, Jon Courtenay, going onto to take the title and become BGT's longest reigning champion, after last year's series was scrapped because of the Covid pandemic. Prior to Saturday night' episode of Britain's Got Talent, which saw Simon Cowell taken in by a lie and Ant and Dec 'split up' after an audition snub, Simon and fellow judges Amanda Holden and David Walliams had hit the Golden Buzzer.

That left just the Geordie hosts and judge Alesha Dixon left and, now it's just ex Strictly star Alesha without a Golden Buzzer act, after Ant and Dec hit theirs for 49-year-old magician Keiichi, who involved both them and Alesha in his act, with the presenters bursting out laughing on numerous occasions as they joined him on stage. But what nobody saw coming, including the BGT judges, viewers at home and Keiichi himself, was for Ant and Dec to hit the Golden Buzzer for him.

The audience were clearly bowled over by him, and, as many of them rose to their feet, Ant remarked: "He is brilliant," with Dec replying: "I love it." And then came the big moment when, after the judges gave their comments, the lads stormed the stage to hit the buzzer and send gold confetti raining down on a stunned Keiichi, before running up to shake his hand and congratulate him.

The judges were up standing as Keiichi struggled to take in what was happening. Viewers at home seemed torn on Ant and Dec's decision but, giving it their firm of approval, one tweeted: "Thats the perfect example of someone that deserves the golden buzzer. Comes on says who he is and just gets on with his act full of energy and has a brilliant personality."
