Ant and Dec have confirmed the full time return of their game show Limitless Win, after being crushed by celebrity player's Rylan Clark's defeat in its Christmas special.
It was at the start of this year that the Geordie hosts launched the programme, right before the latest run of Saturday Night Takeway kicked off on ITV. While, to begin with, some viewers claimed the show's rules were 'too tricky' to get to grips with, Limitless Win quickly attracted a loyal fanbase, as players competed to win a life changing amount of money.
After its first series ended in the spring, Limitless Win was handed a primetime slot in ITV's Christmas Day schedule as celebrities like Katherine Ryan and Jimmy Carr took part in a bid to raise plenty of cash for their chosen charities. Another pair of star players saw Rylan Clark team up with David Walliams and the Strictly It Takes Two host and Britain's Got Talent judge did very well, with their total passing £250,000.
However, a decision not to lock in their earnings, a big money and a gamble and a question on frogs proved to be their undoing. They were asked by Ant and Dec: 'How many weeks does it take for a tadpole to turn into a frog?'
Unfortunately for Rylan and Jimmy, they gave the wrong answer and, having ran out of lives, their cash pot went down to zero, with the hots giving them £1,000 so they didn't go home with nothing. Rylan looked close to tears and Ant and Dec were shaken up backstage, with Ant exclaiming: "It's Christmas man! It's Christmas, they should be walking away with money. That was too much. That was too much."
After all that drama, Ant and Dec have announced that Limitless Win will be back for a new series on Saturday, January 7.
