Ant and Dec address Matt Hancock issue as ITV I'm a Celebrity fans ask same question just moments in

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have returned Down Under to present I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out Of Here! in its original home. After two years of hosting the ITV show from a castle in Wales, they are finally back in the Australian bush.

Viewers were excited as they took to the familiar rope bridge to yell out the famous cry of "I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out Of Here!". But as the titles rolled, showing the new batch of celeb campmates, fans of the popular reality show were asking the whereabouts of a certain former health secretary.

News broke last week that Matt Hancock was joining the jungle and the West Suffolk MP, who has been suspended by the Tory party in the wake of his controversial signing being revealed, said he was taking part so he can "go to where the people are — not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster."

While the broadcaster still hadn't confirmed his surprise appearance as a latecomer to the series, reportedly alongside comedian Seann Walsh, Matt himself confirmed his own signing as he was snapped arriving into Brisbane Airport as well as writing an article to defend his decision to say yes to appearing on the popular programme.

Viewers took to Twitter to ask where he was. @Wee_Westie29 said: "Right, so Matt Hancock then." @nimisinterlude asked: "Okay where tf is Matt Hancock?" @Hiralia shouted: "WHERE IS MATT HANCOCK." And @Tapir_Snout asked: "Where's Matt Hancock???"

The issue was addressed by Ant and Dec who joked about the surprise late arrival not exactly being a surprise. "We've also got not one but two late arrivals and fortunately we've managed to keep their identities a secret," quipped Ant. "Nobody's got a clue who they are."

And Dec agreed: "Yeah. You're going to be so surprised guys." He then added cheekily: "We'll be rolling out the welcome Matt for them very soon." @matthew1noonan tweeted: "The Matt Hancock jokes have started."
