Ansu Fati’s future at Barcelona is up in the air following surprise comments from the player’s father.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are just some of the clubs reportedly taking an interest in the 20-year-old forward, whose father Bori has claimed that he must get more gametime or potentially leave the Camp Nou.
Barcelona boss Xavi has only handed Fati starts in 11 of his 40 appearances this season, leading to a recent spate of rumours regarding a potential move.
Bori Fati has said Real Madrid could be one destination for the youngster, as well as Sevilla where his family moved from Guinea-Bissau at the age of six.
“I think a lot about Sevilla, about going home,” he told Spanish radio station Cope.
“Right now I wouldn't value an offer from Madrid, because Ansu wouldn't accept it. I can't put Ansu where he doesn't want to. But I will never speak ill of Madrid because they are two very big clubs and you never know what the world is going to bring you.
“You never know where it is going to take you.”
Bori Fati also revealed talks with Barcelona and the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, to find a solution to his lack of gametime.
He added: “They tell me that they have bet a lot on Ansu, they tell me that clearly.
“When I sat down with Jorge Mendes, the first thing he told me was that Ansu wants to stay and will continue playing for Barcelona. But I, as a father, thought otherwise, and Ansu doesn't agree with that.
“What bothers me is how they are treating Ansu for minutes. One minute, two minutes, three minutes, that's what bothers me.”
