Ansu Fati makes definitive transfer statement after nightmare Barcelona season

Ansu Fati has revealed he doesn't want to leave Barcelona despite being linked with a move away from Camp Nou.

The 19-year-old has struggled with injuries and fitness issues all season which have limited him to just 11 appearances across all competitions. He suffered a severe hamstring injury back in October - a problem that kept him out for over six months.

However, Fati made his return to action in Barca's 2-1 win over Real Mallorca on Sunday, appearing for the final 15 minutes as Xavi's side earned a much-needed victory at home. He came on for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, who has struggled in front of goal in recent weeks.

Before his injury, Fati had started the season well, scoring five goals and grabbing one assist in 10 games. This was despite starting just four times as Ousmane Dembele continued to keep him out of the side.

Since making his Barcelona debut in 2018, Fati has gone on to score 22 times in 63 matches to date. After being tipped with a move away from Camp Nou, Fati emphatically responded to those claims. "Leave Barca? No. Barca has given me everything," Fati said, as per SPORT.

When asked about his future ambitions, he added: "Being with the national team is always a dream, especially during a World Cup. I've dreamed of winning that trophy all my life, so let's see. Little by little you get better and stronger every day."

Barcelona sit second in La Liga and have all but secured their place in the Champions League next season. Xavi's side are eight points ahead of fifth-place Real Betis with four games to go. Real Madrid have already been crowned champions.

After a disastrous start under Ronald Koeman, Xavi has steadied the ship and got the Catalans back on track. The signings of Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in January have helped as they try and finish as high as they can this season.

With Barca set to push for the La Liga title next season, Fati insists he wants to be a part of that. He lifted the Copa del Rey with the club last term.

Fati claimed: "My main ambition is to win titles with Barcelona, achieving that for the club and the fans is my main objective. If this means that I will also achieve personal records, then incredible. I will work hard and stay dedicated. Hopefully the trophies and records will come after that."
