Renton’s British Boxing Champion Caitlin Kelly added another prestigious gold medal to her trophy cabinet last weekend when she out-pointed British Army Champion Lucy Kisielewska in the final of Haringey Box Cup in London.
Caitlin, 20, had beaten Irish Champion Evelyn Igharo the previous day to book her place in the final. Over three rounds Caitlin won a unanimous decision where all five judges scored her the winner.
It has been a whirlwind end to the season for Caitlin where she has remained undefeated in 12 fights. These wins include victories over Czech, Slovakian, Polish, Irish and English opposition.
Caitlin represented Scotland in Cardiff only two weeks ago where she boxed in the final of the British championships, again picking up gold when she outpointed the tough English Champion.
Last month Caitlin took part in a Box Cup in Czechia and beat her Slovakian opponent in the semi final and then stopped her Polish opponent in the second round of the final.
Caitlin is currently part of the Boxing Scotland Elite boxer programme. This involves training up to five times per week at the High Performance Centre in Glasgow as well as her club training at the Antonine Boxing Club in Dalmuir. Caitlin has her sights set on representing Scotland at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
