Another prominent mock draft where TE Tyler Warren isn’t available for Colts

Another prominent mock draft had Penn State tight end Tyler Warren long gone before the Indianapolis Colts were on the clock.

Eric Edholm of NFL.com put together his first 2025 NFL mock draft and had Warren being taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars at pick No. 5 overall.

“I can imagine new head coach Liam Coen wanting to support Trevor Lawrence with a do-it-all threat at tight end, even if selecting Warren in the top five feels a tad rich to me,” wrote Edholm.

This mock came out shortly after Daniel Jeremiah–one of the best in the business–had Warren being taken at pick No. 7, along with the tight end being No. 5 on Jeremiah’s big board.

For obvious reasons, Warren has been a very popular selection for the Colts in many mock drafts.

For starters, tight end is a huge need for Indianapolis. As general manager Chris Ballard said after the season, they need more passing game production from that unit.

Warren, meanwhile, was one of the most productive pass catching tight ends in college football. He will also bring versatility and a well-round skill set to the NFL as well, and with that comes an added layer of predictability for an offense.

Everything just described about Warren is not only something that the Colts could use, but many other offenses as well.

It’s not my intention to be the ‘he won’t be there’ guy, it would be foolish of me to say that at this early stage of the process. But as mock draft after mock draft has the Colts taking Warren, keep in mind that it is not a slam-dunk that he will even be on the board when Indianapolis is picking.
