Manchester City fans are calling for Kevin De Bruyne to be handed his third career Premier League player of the year award after his first-half hat-trick against Wolves.
The Belgian became the club’s top league goalscorer this season, with his seventh, 16th and 24th-minute strikes at Molineux taking his tally up to 14. It’s now also his best-scoring season in a City shirt with 18 to his name overall.
City fans were concerned going into the game, with only three defenders available. But De Bruyne twice quelled their nerves after his opener and his second following Leander Dendoncker’s equaliser on 11 minutes.
