The Cleveland Browns acquisition of QB Deshaun Watson in a blockbuster trade, not to mention a huge new contract, continues to draw a significant amount of attention off the field. Since being cleared of criminal charges, Watson’s 22 civil cases continued to linger. At one point, there was a belief that those cases, and the NFL’s investigation, would continue on into the 2023 offseason.
Then came word that the NFL was wrapping up its investigation, with a June 30th date left as an important one.
Now, a 23rd lawsuit was filed last week with the plaintiff making concerning allegations.
According to a report on Cleveland.com, the lawyer for all 23 women, Tony Buzbee, plans to file the 24th lawsuit against Watson on Monday:
A 24th civil suit will be filed against Deshaun Watson on Monday by a massage therapist alleging sexual misconduct during past appointments, attorney Tony Buzbee told cleveland.com.
The 23rd suit was filed Tuesday by Buzbee’s client Nia Smith, and all 24 of the plaintiffs are represented by Buzbee.
It is unknown how these additional lawsuits could impact the NFL’s investigation and the possible conclusion of such.
