Another Florida hotspot is getting a Tiger Woods-backed PopStroke

The modern miniature golf course franchise PopStroke, which is backed by Tiger Woods, is adding yet another hot spot to its growing roster of locations.

According to a story in the Palm Beach Post, part of the USA Today Network, a 2025 opening date is expected for a Palm Beach location that will be built on airport property at the southwestern intersection of Australian Avenue and Belvedere Road, adjacent to Palm Beach International Airport.

According to the story, the franchise will pay more than $440,000 in annual rent for the location, although that price could be readjusted. The county will also get a percentage of gross revenues, which could drive the rent higher.

The agreement calls for a payment equal to 4% of annual gross revenues up to $10 million, plus 2% of annual gross revenues exceeding $10 million. If revenue calculations exceed the flat amount, PopStroke will have to pay the higher figure.

The project includes two 18-hole mini-golf courses that will feature jumbotron screens, music and a mobile app delivery of drinks. It will also feature an open-air building with a full-service restaurant, a rooftop pool and multiple bars, including one centered in the middle of the golf area.

It’s the second golf-themed entertainment venue that will be constructed next to the airport in recent years. Drive Shack, a high-tech driving range with an upscale sports-bar environment, opened in 2020 at 1710 Belvedere Road. And not too far away, The Park, a 192-acre public golf course, debuted this spring at 7301 Georgia Ave.

Dylana Silver-O’Brien, PopStroke’s marketing vice president, said the company was attracted to the airport site because it is centrally located. More than 6 million passengers a year fly in and out of Palm Beach International Airport.

The upscale putting and dining venue has plans for a number of new locations to be opened in 2024, with most of the announcements coming months after TaylorMade Golf Company made a deal with the company to push PopStroke’s value to $650 million.

Four venues already under construction or completed include Scottsdale, Arizona; Delray Beach, Florida; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and Las Vegas.

Popstroke will also expand to Nashville, Tennessee, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as Dallas, San Antonio and College Station, Texas. Florida will also add additional venues in Orlando/Winter Garden and Daytona Beach.
