Designer Louise Trotter Officially Bids Adieu to Carven and Says Hello to Bottega Veneta

There's a delicate dance going on right now. Some may liken it to an extended game of musical chairs where designers come and go sometimes without much notice. Chanel lost Virginie Viard, Hedi Slimane is out at Celine and John Galliano just announced he's leaving Maison Margiela. Today we received word that Louise Trotter is breaking ties with Carven.

Now normally this news may not warrant a lot of buzz. That's not to take away from Trotter's immense skill and expertise. After all, she was the first female creative director of Lacoste. Prior to that impressive achievement, she headed up Joseph turning the label into a trendier version of itself to much acclaim. Trotter's also worked for Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.

The reason this deserves a headline is because Trotter is heading to Bottega Veneta to be Matthieu Blazy's successor, while Blazy is going to Chanel. The French fashion house just confirmed the new hire.

Trotter's last day at Carven will be January 24th and her successor has yet to be revealed.
