But if you really have a hunger to see the world, it might interest you to know that Zipair—a low-cost carrier from Japan Airlines that launched in 2020, will launch a route between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT) this summer, with one-way fares as low as $325.
The route will be available five times a week, starting on June 2, and tickets are on sale now. Each flight will leave at 5pm, local time, and and arrive in Tokyo one day later at 8:05 p.m., local time.
In terms of getting back home, flights will depart Tokyo at 9:35 p.m., local time, and arrive in San Francisco at 3 p.m., local time.
This is a new route for Zipair, which also offers flights to Los Angeles International Airport, San José Mineta International Airport and the Honolulu International Airport in Hawaii.
As noted by AFAR, Zipair utilizes Boeing 787-8 and offers three classes of fares: the “Zip Full-Flat Value,” which is equivalent to business class and costs $885 one way; “Standard Value,” or the equivalent of economy (starting at $325); and discounted “U6 Standard Value,” for children ages 2-6 as low as $91.
Inflight meals, checking luggage and selecting a seat all cost extra.
