Jerry Seinfeld, Bruce Springsteen, Jim Gaffigan, Norah Jones, Questlove, and Jon Stewart are set to headline the annual Stand Up for Heroes fundraiser later this year. The event, which supports injured veterans and their families, will also feature comedian Mark Normand and musician Patti Scialfa, who is married to Springsteen. Jon Stewart has been a consistent presence at the fundraiser over the years.
This year's Stand Up for Heroes will take place on November 11 at David Geffen Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Since its establishment, the fundraiser has raised an impressive $84 million to aid veterans and military families.
Stand Up for Heroes was first organized in 2007 and is a collaborative effort between the New York Comedy Festival and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The foundation was founded by Bob Woodruff, a journalist who was severely injured during a 2006 attack in Iraq while reporting for ABC News.
Suni Harford, the board chair of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, expressed excitement for the upcoming 18th Stand Up for Heroes event, highlighting the evening's blend of laughter, music, and entertainment. She emphasized that the event serves as a platform to honor veterans, service members, and their families, especially given its timing on Veterans Day.
Tickets for Stand Up for Heroes will be available for purchase starting Thursday through the Bob Woodruff Foundation website and the Lincoln Center box office.
