There was one malpractice case reported from Bengaluru rural district on the first day of the first annual examination of II PU, which was held on Friday across the State.
Apart from this, the examination was conducted smoothly in 1,124 examination centers with 96.53% attendance.
A total of 5,25,787 students had enrolled for the language Kannada and Arabic examinations. Among these 5,07,556 students were present and 18,231 students were absent. In all the districts of the State, including Bengaluru, most Muslim girl students attended the examination in college uniform.
Students were happy with the first examination and felt that Kannada examination was easy. Monika C.G., an II PU student from Bengaluru, said, “The Kannada exam was very easy. The number of objective questions was increased to 20 marks. Descriptive questions were also easy. It will help us get good scores.”
Minister for Department of School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa visited the Government PU College for Girls examination centre at Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, and met the students. He also verified the necessary arrangements for the examination.
To avoid malpractices, the Karnataka State Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has conducted this exam under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. It has also appointed 3,108 special invigilation squads and 540 district squads to ensure that the examination goes on without hiccups. A radius of 200 metres around examination centres have been declared as prohibited areas when the examination is under way.
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), and other public transport corporations have provided free bus service for students.
