An international bank holding company with its UK headquarters in Nottingham has confirmed news of redundancies will not impact UK staff. Capital One, an American financial corporation with a UK base in Nottingham, announced on Thursday, January 19, that it has cut 1,100 jobs from its technology segment.
However, these positions were only cut in its US side of business and has no connection to its operations in the UK, meaning its staff in Nottingham and London do not need to worry over the announcement. Capital One specialises in credit cards, as well as auto loans, savings accounts and other forms of banking.
It has been reported that all of the employees were invited to apply for different roles in the company after the redundancies were announced. Additionally, a range of roles with the company are currently available at its headquarters in Nottingham, including for software engineers, cyber security operations manager and specialist customer support.
