Manchester City's supporters are pleading with the club to confirm the arrival of River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.
The Argentine, who celebrates his 22nd birthday today, is poised to join City in a £17.9million deal, making him their first signing of this month's transfer window, just hours ahead of it closing.
Over the weekend, River Plate president Jorge Brito confirmed that Alvarez's move to the Etihad Stadium was a "done deal," meaning all that is left, it seems, is the official confirmation of his arrival.
The striker, according to Brito, will remain on loan at River Plate until July, ahead of linking up with City and Pep Guardiola ahead of the start of next season.
Brito said: "We've a full agreement with Manchester City to sell Julian. The deal is done.
"He's going to stay on loan here at River Plate until July 7."
Although Brito claims the deal has been concluded, City's supporters are still eagerly anticipating confirmation of his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, pleading with the club to announce the signing of him.

Alvarez, who has being going from strength-to-strength in his homeland, is considered to have a huge future ahead of himself and he will be hoping to make a name for himself in the Premier League.
The length of the contract that Alvarez is set to sign at the Etihad Stadium has not yet been determined.
