Anne Heche's exes give updates on her condition after horrific car accident

Anne Heche is said to be in a stable condition after being involved in a horrifying car accident on Friday – with two of her exes giving an update on her condition.

The 53-year-old American actress was rushed to hospital suffering from severe burns after her car struck two buildings and ignited a fire in a Los Angeles home.

The Ally McBeal actress was intubated as part of her treatment and had been reported as suffering from ‘severe’ injuries following the shocking incident.

Now reports have said the star – who dated Ellen DeGeneres in the 1990s – is in a stable condition, while some close to her say she is expected to recover.

Fellow actor Thomas Jane, who Anne dated from 2019 until 2020, told the Daily Mail: "While Anne and I are no longer an item, today's tragic news was devastating to me and to all who love her.

"My heart goes out to Anne and her two sons. As of right now Anne is stable and expected to pull through.”

He added: “My thoughts and prayers are with Anne, one of the true talents of her generation. Thank God no one else was hurt."

Meanwhile, Anne’s former boyfriend James Tupper has also spoken out following the accident.
Taking to Instagram and sharing a photo of Anne and their son, he wrote: "Thoughts and prayers for this lovely woman, actress and mother tonight anneheche."

He added: "we love you" alongside a red heart emoji.

Anne and James dated from 2007 until 2018 and they welcomed their son together in 2008.

The actress was previously in a relationship with cameraman Coleman "Coley" Laffoon from 2000 until 2007 and they have a son together.

Meanwhile, the star's publicist said in a statement shared on Saturday: “Anne is currently in stable condition. Her family asks for your thoughts and prayers. We ask to respect her privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”

On Friday, reports emerged that Anne had been involved in a car accident in the Mar Vista neighbourhood of Los Angeles.

Door cam footage from close to the scene of the accident showed a blue Mini driving at high speed before there was the loud sound of a crunch – allegedly the noise of the car hitting a building.

Reports stated Anne’s car struck an apartment block before she continued to drive, only to crash into another building which burst into flames.

It was reported that 59 firefighters attended the scene of the accident and spent an hour and five minutes bringing the flames under control.

LAFD Capt. Erik Scott said: “We really had a multifaceted incident here.

“We had a significant traffic collision, we had entrapment of a woman inside that, we had car that erupted into fire, and then we had a home that had significant fire that is red tagged. It's at this point destroyed.”
