Australian influencer and skincare mogul Anna Paul has lost almost a million followers amid her explosive feud with fellow TikToker Mikaela Testa.
Over the past couple of weeks, Australian netizens have been consumed with one of the biggest homegrown internet scandals in the last decade.
Things reached boiling point when Mikaela released an almost nine-minute-long TikTok accusing beloved content creator Anna Paul and her brother (and Mikaela’s ex) Atis Paul of concerning behaviour.
Some of the allegations made against the Paulie owner included talking badly about fans and their bodies, exploiting young fans with giveaways and lying about other impoverished upbringings.
After days of silence, Anna took to her own TikTok account to address the allegations, denying she ever spoke badly about a fan and that she “felt broke” in her childhood due to instances where her family couldn’t afford school uniforms or would budget for groceries.
But amongst all the think pieces from other TikTokers and comments, it appears that the feud has taken a major toll on Anna’s following.
Prior to Mikaela’s video, Anna had a whopping 7.2 million followers on her TikTok account. At the time of writing, Anna’s follower account has fallen to 6.8 million.
The drastic change hasn’t gone unnoticed as other content creators have begun pointing out the major influence the feud had on Anna’s account.
“I know that PR team is scrambling RN,” one creator wrote alongside a graphic showing a live follower counter for Anna Paul’s account.
“Am I the only one checking Anna Paul’s TikTok every day to check how many followers she’s lost since Mikaela’s video,” another wrote.
Unfortunately for Anna, it appears that a lot of folks on the internet aren’t impressed with her latest attempt to address the allegations.
Shortly after posting her video — which was published on Monday evening — viewers called for the creator to invest in a PR team while others critiqued her for releasing a statement that didn’t fully address the allegations in Mikaela’s video.
Anna has not posted since she uploaded her video. However, Mikaela quickly took to her Instagram, accusing Anna of blocking her comment from the video.
“Of course, Anna will block my comments. I guess I’m forced into explaining myself in full,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.
In the comment, Mikaela accused Anna of being a “fake” and that she had “receipts” to back up her accusations.
“Anna please do not try and paint me as a liar,” Mikaela’s comment began.
“I will come with receipts. Do not make me come on here with it all. You said what you said in [its] entirety. I thought we were friends too. Until your friends have come to me with everything you’ve been saying about me the entire time. I reached out because I thought we were friends. We weren’t. You are fake and this doesn’t cut it. I care about children and you’re extorting them,” she wrote.
