It was pooch paradise on the bonny banks over the weekend as animal lovers turned out to prove their four-legged friends are ‘top dogs’.
Loch Lomond Shores had their very first Companion Dog Show with all profits made donated to the Scottish SPCA Centre in Milton.
Residents were urged to bring their pets along and enter them in the show, with categories for all breeds and ages.
It was a fun-packed day for all the family, with canine massage, competitions, doggy market and street food on offer, as well as plenty of treats to keep the doggies happy.
There was every ‘o’paw’tunity’ to spoil dogs, with traders selling accessories and clothing.
A dog trainer, who specialises in working with puppies, was also on hand with advice.
The top dogs splashed around on the beach and enjoyed walks on the woodland trails to burn off excess energy.
Dog owners flocked from all over Scotland to enter their furry friends in the show.
There were entries from Edinburgh, the borders, central belt and a lot of local dogs too.
Mini smooth dachshund Lady Pixel won Best in Show to the delight of proud owner Kat Adullah.
Reserve Best in Show at the opposite end of the scale went to two-year old blue Great Dane ‘Scout’ owned by Deryk Smith.
Best Puppy was a charming six-month old Bernese mountain dog, ‘Hugo’ owned by Emma Taylor and Best Veteran pug ‘Pugsley’.
The six novelty classes were well filled.
The winner of best cross breed was Chester, owned by Ashley Thomson.
Spot prizes were also generously donated by trade stand holders.
Judge Karen Gold said: “It was amazing.
“I had a wonderful and the dogs were amazing. I had difficulty picking my winners as they were all gorgeous.”
The day was organised by SHS Events and is one of many the firm brings to the Shores, including the regular market on site for several years now.
