Annoyed residents and shoppers have voiced their concern over growing reports of antisocial behaviour among youths in their town centre.
Mansfield District Police are having "real issues" with groups of both male and female teenagers in and around the town centre, they revealed on their Facebook page.
Police say that their actions have escalated to include criminal damage to property and vehicles, assault and hate incidents.
The group have been causing problems for several months in Mansfield, usually in the evenings at around 3pm onwards on weekdays and day and evening hours at the weekend.
Now, local residents and town shoppers have spoken out about the group.
Sandra Crosley, 55, who lives in Ravensdale, said: "There's no doubt it's an issue in and around the town centre.
"Often you get kids zooming past on their bikes or mopeds at high speeds - it's dangerous.
"I don't know much about this group but I think it' disgusting that they're going around vandalising and committing assaults.
"You'd hope if it carries on the way it is then they'll be dealt with.
"I think it's mainly pretty quiet in the town but there are those that ruin it."
Daniel Keeling, 39, said: "I see younger groups causing trouble all the time.
"I've definitely heard from talking to people that there are a specific group that have been causing trouble around here.
"They're a nuisance.
"But it's Mansfield so I can't say I'm surprised, no!"
Police say that if there are any parents that suspect that their child is part of this group then they take any action to separate them from this activity.
Mark Spector, 63, said: "I don't pay much attention to that sort of thing really.
"It's the same as most places isn't it? You're always going to get the odd group causing some trouble.
"As long as they're not causing people any harm I don't see much of a problem."
A statement posted on the Mansfield District Police Facebook page read: "Mansfield Town centre officers, are having real issues with groups of both male and female teenagers, in and around the Town centre of Mansfield in the evening 3pm onwards weekdays and day and evening hours at the weekend.
"This Group has been causing issues of anti-social behavior for several months now and in the past few weeks their actions have escalated to include criminal damage to property and vehicles, assault and hate incidents.
"Their actions are causing a detrimental effect on the people who both work and visit our town centre and the businesses located here, we all want the best town centre it could possibly be, and it is in all our hands to preserve its prosperity."
